the Nick Cave solo concert history exeeds as to long ago on the most of the world's prestigious stages;it best shows the persona's wideability, the creative sole and true nerve of the musical material. This year the solo tour marks double importance - starting September the 19th in Reikyavik it'll carry out promotion of The Proposition - the artists latest studio work and a movie of the same name.

once the singer in Australia's beloved The Birthday Party, later - leader in The Bads Seeds, singer-(song)writer Nick Cave has always been a passionate cinema lover. Cave is also the co-author of this 20 million Proposition script. The soundtrack is put to life together with long time Seeds partner Warren Ellis, who will be among other band members coming with Cave to Riga in November.

the movie has already gained critical acclaim and Cave has been honoured the prestigious Australian Cinema Critics award for "best musical score". Last year Cave broke the ever so wicked british critics being given the Q Classic Songwriter award. Though Cave has been more than principled concerning certain awards - when in 1996 MTV Europe nominated Cave as the best male artist he politely insisted on removing his nominee for the simple reason of not understanding this kind of a "competition".

Cave's music already been used in many movies by many famous directors including the legendary Wim Wenders;the literally amazing lyrics and the fascinating bariton has made the movie people beg of his melodies to be a part of their works. These include Hellboy, Shrek 2 and many more Hollywood grands.
Cave himself is a great actor and has played in a variety of films.

though his creative balance is not fulfilled by merely writing music and scripts. Not long ago also the latvian translation of Cave' s critically acclaimed novel And the Ass Saw the Angel (1989) saw daylight;he has also published numerous poetry books.

Cave's commercial success in the music business came in the year 1996 with the album Murder Ballads, which includes two classic duets with british rock diva P.J. Hervey nad with Australia's pop princess Kylie Minogue - the famous Where the Wild Roses Grow started as a joke and became the one most sold (1 million copies) Nick Cave &The Bad Seeds track.
on the 20th of November in Arena Riga we shall have the unique chance to witness this charisma in full effect;besides Nick Cave himself singing and playing the piano the Riga concert will also welcome violin and mandolina master Warren Ellis, bass guitarist Martyn P. Casey and the greek drummer Jim Slavunos.
